Framework Knitters' Museum
400 years of craft and graft

The Framework Knitters’ Museum is one of the last places in the world where you can witness a framework knitter making lace. Frame knitting was added to the Red List of Endangered Crafts which means there are only a handful of professionals who know how to operate these fascinating machines.

This film shows Matthew Hamilton demonstrating some of the key processes involved in keeping this machine alive.
